Please join award-winning author and Pleasant Ridge resident Frank Anthony Polito to celebrate the release of his latest novel, Renovated to Death, book 1 in the cozy mystery series Domestic Partners in Crime, set in the fictional Detroit suburb of historic Pleasant Woods, located between Royal Heights and Fernridge.

In the book real-life domestic partners and stars of the hit home renovation TV show, Domestic Partners, bestselling mystery author Peter “PJ” Penwell and actor JP Broadway are enjoying work and life in their sleepy Detroit suburb of Pleasant Woods—until a suspicious death makes an unscripted appearance…

PR residents should recognize scenic locales like The Depot Diner, Chianti Wine Pub, and the popular gay bar Shout!, and maybe even a few of the story’s colorful characters. Book 2 in the series, Rehearsed to Death, will be published in June 2023.

Frank is the author of the novels Band Fags!, Drama Queers!, Lost in the ’90s, and The Spirit of Detroit. He is also a screenwriter, currently in development on his first screenplay, Peasant Ridge. He and his actor partner, Craig Bentley, moved to Pleasant Ridge from New York City in 2013, where their home-buying experience was captured on the hit HGTV show House Hunters.
